Sometimes my car would have trouble starting, for example when i turn the ignition key it would try and start on but it wont start, then i do it a 2nd time it would always start, what should i do to get rid of this problemalso when i drive by a river or certain locations (that the area has a bad smell) almost all the time the smell goes right through my car and i can smell it from the inside, (even when my windows are closed) is it my air filter? do i need to buy a new one and change it?and i have a automatic and i accidentally let some orange soda drop by the automatic gear shiftand when i go to change gears it gets hard to move it cuz of the stickiness, i wiped it clean but still the same thing, i think theres more soda under the case of the p.r,n.d.n,1,2im i able to remove that and clean it???thanks

If when you try to start the car you hear a click and it does not start it may be a solenoid problem if it turns over and does not start i t could mean any thing from a tune up to servicing your injectors.your a/c has setting that pulls air from outside of the vehicle, turn that setting off and you should stop smelling fumes from the exterior of the car it is not your air filter, you can remove the console around the gear lever and clean the soda and whatever else is in there, it should help .nice luck.
