My wife just purchased a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse spyder gs with the 2.4, 4 cylinder engine. under the gas lid, it says premium fuel only. is this a necessity, or would regular be adequate in this car?thanks

Regular is fine for a 2.4 liter, premium is only required in a v6 or greater.
