2000 mitsubishi mirage timing chain?
Hello i have
a 2000 mitsubishi mirage 1.8 engine. at the shop today for oil change they told me i needed to replace the timing chain??? car runs
nice
. they said this was a normal scheduled service. cant find a repair book on this car so my question is are they trying to rip me off or is this for really needed??? thank you for your time..

Your vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, not a chain. if you look in your owners manual, it should give you the time/mileage that it is recommended to replace.generally anywhere from 70-80,000 miles it is a good time to replace it.
