What should i do? i know i would not get much value for it via trade in and now and the dealership wants to charge me $3000 for a used engine to be put in. any suggestions? well, what happened was i was driving the car on the highway and the engine just gave out. when they first got the car they stated that it was due to the timing belt being broken. then today they called me back and said the top half of the engine slammed into the bottom half when the belt broke. causing parts of the top engine to be broken. does that sound right?

Are you sure need a new engine? i think the dealer is trying to burn you.
