Where can i find a mercedes benz part that locks the entire car and controls the trunk.?
I need a mercedes benz part that can close the trunk and lock the entire car. i have a 1999 mercedes benz s420. the part that i need is a big bulky box with a cylinder and some things (i have no clue) sticking out like connectors. its like 1 foot by 1/2 a foot and goes in the trunk. i checked all the car dumps and places where people send there messed up junked up cars (car dump to be short). and i could not find anything...

it is indeed a pse vacuum pump. the part number for a new one is 140 800 32 48.
you can buy one second hand at potomac in maryland usa. they ship second-hand mb parts ups and have nice
prices.

i do have some bad news though.
s class cars 1998-1999 need to have this pump programmed with a dealer
l called an hht (hand held tester) after it is installed. the programming is to tell the pump what features the car is equipped with (trunk close assist, soft touch door close, etc..).
i recommend buying a used one and taking the car to a independent mb specialist that has an hht.
a dealer would cost a fortune for this job.
