1999 mercedes-benz ml320?
Does anybody know why? when i go to start my 1999 mercedes benz ml320 it shows two wrenches in the odometer and the number 1600 blinks for about 5 seconds then it goes back to the normal mileage reading. is this a maintenance issue?

One wrench is an a svc (minor svc), two wrenches is a b svc (major svc). the a & b svc alternate at approx 10000 mile intervals, first an a at approx 10,000 miles then a b at approx 20,000 miles and so on. the mileage counts down til its due based on oil condition (oil level and quality are monitored by a sensor in your oil pan). your ml is telling you "1600 miles until a b svc is due". if it says -1600 miles, then your overdue for a svc by 1600 miles.
