How do i remove broken wheel studs from a mercedes benz?
Ive heard its comon from shops over tightening them. im going to try freezing then heating but wanted to see if anyone had another wayfor people that dont know. on mercedes you cant remove the wheel until you get the studs off. the studs have a shoulder that retains the wheel

This usually happens on rims that have been chromed.
the only way to remove the broken bolts is to use a drill or a torch (be careful, neither option is easy) once the shoulder has been removed by either method, the threaded portion will easily spin out.

it seems that the shoulders chemically seize to the wheel, it is not likely to be caused by over tightening.
