Lincoln

I noticed a strange noise when i turn my 2000 lincoln mercury sable left or right after stopping. it kinda sounds like those light sabers on star wars when someone would turn them on (sorry, that the best description i can come up with) and then it will go away when i press on the accelerator but the minute i am at a stop light and need to turn it will make that sound again. when i pulled into the garage, i also noticed it before i turned off the car. does someone have any idea what this could be? also, the vehicle turns fine with no problems. any help would be appreciated!

Have you noticed an spots under you car. you could have a power steering leak.
