I need to rent a four wheel drive vehicle in the san francisco bay area for a drive into mexico, south of the border. i cannot find information on agencies that will allow for such a rental. any recommendations?

Most agencies that you rent from, say that you can only travel a short distance into mexico. you should check with your own auto insurance provider to see if you are covered with a rental car into mexico.
