I have 1989 jeep cherokee with 4.0 engine that over heats.?
Replaced radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc.. jeep dealer says that the 1989 model had a problem with air-lock in cooling system (fixed following year) but cannot tell me how to bleed it to get rid of the air-lock problem, thus how do i
fix that condition is the question.

i dont know what year the xj went from a closed cooling system with a pressurized overflow bottle but if its closed, it needs to be "burped" after the system is drained. you can do this by loosening the temp sensor at the rear of the cylinder head while its jogging, to allow air to escape. air in the closed system will cause it to over heat and also make it appear full, but its not.
