I need the best advice you can give me....i plan on buying a 2004 infiniti g35 in about 4 weeks....?
I want to give 5000 down, i have 2600 so far, so by then i will have it... i am going to get my own loan from a bank or credit union before i go to the dealership... i looked around different dealerships (from ct to arizona), and the average price for an 04 infiniti is about 23,000 (some places were 19-20k, other places were 28k for the same car!!). everyone keeps telling me to get the invoice price, and i went to edmunds and all i got was the trade-in, private party and dealer price. which one is the invoice?? the most i will pay is 18000 (without tax, title, tags). is this feasible? do you think a dealership will drop it down to about 18k for me? i need someone to outline exactly what i should do as far as bargaining... i beg someone to plz do the research for me concerning this car, i really need help! i really want this vehicle, i have been through so much in the past year, and next week is my birthday so this car is a gift to myself... thanx!

Okay first we need to know if you are buying a coupe or a 4 door. second how blokey miles? third what kind of condition?once these things are known you can get an idea as to what a dealer might buy the car for. for example a 2004 coupe with automatic transmission in kelly blue book with 40000 miles books for about 18200.00 what does that tell you? that you cannot buy the car for 18000 dollars. it will cost you more. the dealer has costs involved in reconditioning the car and makeing it ready for sale. if yoou can find one that is acceptable for about 20500 to 21000 your getting a fair deal on the car. as far as invoice goes there is no invoice for a used car only new. also depending on the desirability of the car will depend on how close to invoice you can get.good luck and happy hunting.source:30 years in auto sales
